i think Mexicans (at least the ones that i know) hate Floyd because they're narrow minded and expect every fight to be a brawl. They forget what the sport is.

As far as race in boxing goes. I believe people that really like the sport wont put race as a determining factor if they should cheer for some one or not. I also believe it's the fans that makes us cheer for own race. Example: I cant cheer for some one of "race Z" at a bar if all of "race Z" fan are talking shii about mine. That's why i try my hardest to watch fights at someone's house. My circle is diverse and we keep it civil.

I like coming to the ring because i see that most of yall enjoy the sport and careless of the race of these boxers.

I knew somebody was going to bring this up. First off boxing is a nationalistic sport. Just like soccer. No different than a country rooting for their national team.

You can't compare the 2. Mexican is a nationality. Black is a race. 2 different things. Mexicans cheer for anybody who is Mexican, regardless of what he looks like

But he's Mexican, so they root for them. Rooting for somebody with the same nationality as you =/= rooting for somebody of your skin color. If you said you were rooting for Floyd because he's American, you'd have a point.

I don't think DLH put the battery in his back. I think Floyd realized it was a necessary transformation. You could tell it was coming because of the change in attitude leading up to the fights. Dating back to the Gatti fight, where he completely shytted on Arturo, calling him an overrated C+ club fighter feasting on bums. The demeanor in his post fight interviews changed. His fight with Oscar just put it all out there on the main stage because Oscar was a big star, so it gave Floyd a platform.

It was a necessary evil though. The truth is that most people outside of hardcore fans dont know shyt about or care about the intricacies or the actual science of boxing. That's why MMA is where it's at (no diss to MMA though, because I fukks with it too). That's why he did it, because nobody gave a shyt about Floyd when he was Pretty Boy Floyd. He had to make his persona as Money Mayweather in order to sell himself and make himself marketable.

If it wasn't for that, Floyd would be in the same boat as Andre Ward or Guillermo Rigondeaux
