my parents flew FlyDubai from Hargeisa-Dubai-Mumbai-Dubai-Hargeisa in december.

Russian authorities said the flight data recorder was badly damaged that it'll be a month before data can be fully extracted and we can really find out what happened.

The plane stalled and could never be recovered from what it's attitude tells me. I heard on its 1st attempt it may had made tail contact with the ground damaging perhaps it's elevators. Even in the worse winds, which weren't critical, they still could have landed.

why were they in a holding pattern for more than 1 hour? that is awfully long to be in a holding sequence especially since only 1 aircraft was in the control zone.

they had more than enough fuel + reserves to divert....but you and me both know how airlines are on diversions.

that other aircraft that went around 3x....did so successfully before eventually diverting....so i really wonder what happened with this crew?
