He's been donating his own money for the past few years.
props for donations. And with it he co-signed the socio-economical and racial activism imposed on him by fans/politicians/Nike that went beyond police harassment/brutality
The owners' actions were claimed to be based on the deeds that his activism is suppose to fight against...he took a check to allow the owners to continue doing their work

i think you're being obtuse here, breh. i couldnt be more explicit in stating my issue is with the fact that the nfl can silence his ability to speak on the collusion that can demonstrably diminish his, and other players', ability to speak out against this practice in a multibillion dollar sport; effectively negating what he supposedly sought to correct. we all know the standard practices of legal proceedings like these and what outcomes they yield, the crux of his crusade and the actions he's taken up until this point was to go against the standard. i'm of the belief that this result is standard and does nothing to yield any actual change for anyone not named colin kaepernick.

while we may not be, as black people, a monolith, the actions of those with platforms and power do, in fact, affect those of us without one. kaep, in my opinion, has cost us something here by demonstrating, once again, that on certain issues we can be bought. so i'll repeat, and this will be the last time, i do not have an issue with him getting his lost wages. i have an issue with him getting them at the cost of his silence against a league filled with people who should be held responsible in both the legal and public opinion courts. it's OK to get paid, its NOT OK to get paid to shut the fukk up about some bullshyt you know others will go through after you. i appreciate the pragmatic opinion you hold, but mine is not entirely philosophical and does have pragmatic consequences.

Great post. Repped. Alot of nikkas on here are being obtuse about this shyt. nikkas are happy for Kaep but at the same time disappointed he didn't take it to trial so these cacs could finally get exposed. These brehs act like nikkas are against Kap, or saying he lost. Nah he won, but the NFL got a bigger win. The owners will pay peanuts (to them) and will never get their texts/emails/etc exposed. Would've been a huge PR disaster for the league. It would've been nice to see how far this could've gone.

Not sure why we even discuss these type of things when most of the people here aren't even black. My stance is that the players folded instead of joining Kaep or Reid so they no longer have a say on the matter.
The online lazy most people, aren't black bullshyt. How about black people don't all think the same thing. Some of you cats so fragile you can't have people, disagree with y'all without the weak they aren't black online bullshyt. That's why I like having these convos IRL where folks can't use that weak stuff and definitely don't try that c00n uncle tome name calling shyt to folks face to face.

Kap put it all on the line to
bring police brutality and injustice
to the face of white america.
it cost that man EVERYTHING.
he was giving money and putting in man
hours for the cause without a NFL job.
he deserve that money the league gave
him and alot more......including our respect.
most of you nikkas would fold under a
negative 10th of that kinda pressure.
Kap was public enemy number 1 in white america.
show some fukkin respect.
:ehh:

*didnt watch vid, and won't*

Larry Johnson
- is a domestic abuser
- went to Penn State while Jerry Sandusky was playing with boys in the shower
- was a multi-millionaire who shared an apartment with another male multi-millionaire
- isn't even the best pro-athlete named "Larry Johnson"

Who'd he share an apartment with?

No, you're being obtuse.

Kaep was never on a crusade to expose the NFL for collusion against players at large. There's no evidence or even suggestion that they were colluding against players at large. His grievance was about them colluding against HIM.

Your soapbox speech about "we can be bought" is profoundly ignorant and illustrates that you did not realize why he was fighting the NFL. It was always about lost wages. Y'all keep trying to turn him being on a crusade to expose the NFL. That was never his mission. And it never needed to be.

Kaep isn't Malcolm X.

At the end of the day, we live in the most cutthroat and unforgiving capitalistic society and people gotta eat.

You can't be a millionaire and be a social leader. If your leader has millions of dollars, then you are confused about what activism and political change looks like.

Kaep is simply a man with strong convictions. He was moved to stand for something. If you expect a multi-millionaire quarterback, who played in the Super Bowl, and had a 100 million dollar contract, endorsements with multi-national corporations, to go broke over taking a knee, then I question your intelligence. He did not become a professional athlete to become poor. I ain't mad at Kaep because I knew what was gonna happen after he took the knee. He and another corporate entity was gonna make money off of it.

You know how rich people think about the masses, "You can't help them if you are one of them." How many times have you heard that phrase?

Jay Z straight up said that the fact he exists is enough help.

Jeff Bezos got enough money to end world hunger and still be a billionaire and guess what - he ain't about to make sure impoverished families in Africa and Asia have a meal because he did not make Amazon so he can feed poor people.

Multi-Millionaires (and billionaires), political activism and political change do not mix.

People who are about the people and societal change do/did not have a lot of money. Their business is the people and caring about the masses does not make anyone wealthy.

Malcolm X, Huey P. Newton, Che Guevara, Martin Luther King Jr., Lenin, Angela Davis, Elaine Brown, Ella Baker, Amilcar Cabral, they did not have a lot of money.

If you say or imply Kaep "sold out" then you are against Kaep.

Being disappointed that CaCs weren't exposed is fine, but it was never Kaep's goal to expose them and there's nothing wrong with that. The NFL was not the enemy of Kaep until they unfairly (and possibly illegally) chose to collude against him for breaking no league rules. Rectification was always going to be monetary.
