Was Big the first rapper from NY to really put together a crew and try and start a record label?

Junior Mafia was never going to last though but getting Cam'ron and other acts would've set dude up. Could've focussed on Kim too.

nah, that was Wu-Tang but they decided to let everyone have separate deals. Junior Mafia would have def succeeded had BIG still been alive, the debut went gold, kim went platinum and with the right direction, Cease would have been a legit star, he had the voice, all he needed was that lil boost from Big's pen. He also has Charli Baltimore as his artist so who knows how much success that would've been if any. BIG was also starting the Commission which consisted of him, Jay, Puff, Charli Baltimore and Cease. Another platinum plaque there!
