You may be right in roughly 20 years or so but by design the game of football is just so easily accessable with only one game a week that makes it easier for people to set aside one day to go all out withit unlike other sports...
But short term somebody will have to die on the field and even then it'd have to be a big name player to see any long term effects of it hurting business...
