Voting for the most rational choice doesn't mean you're endorsing everything about the person. This candidate could be , but it's still in your rational self-interest to vote for the better option. Voting for president doesn't matter but everyone lower on the ticket does. Local elections and congressional seats are far more important.

After seeing Obama fight for 8 years to enact legislation, you'd think some people would have caught on about now.

It's the same reason why I don't take Bernie Sanders that seriously. Yeah, he's against WS and the extremely wealthy but most people in Congress aren't. Executive orders can only take you so far...
