Also, @CrimsonTider sports in general have made a effort to remove the "manly" aura associated with them.

The NBA is soft too. There was a time when the little guys stayed on the outside, and if they came in the paint, there was gonna be contact. And if they came in the paint too much that contact was gonna get harder. Now these guys LIVE in hte paint the same way WR's live in the middle of the field now when it used to be the opposite. You earned stripes as a WR if you were willing to go across that middle.

People are saying the game is gettin soft because of how it is being officiated. These BS helmet to helmet, defenseless player penalties and fines are ridiculous
BS helmet to helmet hits?

:wtf:

Go watch the Frontline PBS doc on the NFLs concussion crisis and tell me these are BS head hits these men are taking.

If those penalties can save one hit a week then its helping in some sort of way.

Bruh, you CAN NOT eliminate helmet to helmet contact in the game of football :mindblown:

Time after time defenders are aiming for the chest or stomach area when a reciever catches the ball across the middle. Naturally the reciever ducks his head and changes the trajectory/angle of his body and lowers himself to absorb the hit. So now the defender inadvertantly (sp) hits the reciever in the head and he gets fined, flagged or suspended :mindblown:

Exactly. It's one thing to curtail human error of a malicious intent, but the laws of man can never, ever govern the laws of physics and human kinetics.

It's why concussions won't just be prevented, but I'm willing to argue they CAN'T be prevented. They tend to occur from the whiplash motion of the neck, not so much from the literal hit to the head themselves. If you want to produce something that reduces or stops the whiplash, fine. Then where does that kinetic energy go if the neck can't give? Let it accumulate in the spinal column in the neck and now we'll quite possible be dealing with shattered vertebrae.

I think I'd prefer the concussion :yeshrug:
