For Americans, is there anything that would make you leave the country? And if so where would you go?

I could digital nomad it a bit but I have loved ones here I care about so it would never be permanent. Plus as mentioned in this thread this is my home.

The huge advantage people dont talk about with America is that we aren't near any major global conflicts due to our geography and relatively safe in terms of natural disasters. Im in Mexico City visiting and while I'd consider staying here for a few months, the city is on a bed of seismic activity and earthquakes happen here. I was also in Oaxaca and they're experiencing a drought now. Its easy to romanticize other countries but they introduce their own problems too.

Personally , I think natural disasters are a legitimate reason to leave. We have one of the only 4 active super volcanoes on Earth right in the middle of our country . If Yellowstone goes off, that'll be the end of this country's story like pompei. It's reasonable to assume that an eruption of that magnitude is going to trigger California also. Might be a wrap for North America as a concept because the ash will blanket both Canada and Mexico. I don't think the East Coast cities could handle all the refugees.

We might be in a strange scenario where Hawaii and Alaska are the only two habitable States because of how far away they are from the mainland.:pachaha:

Huh? There's a LOT of places on the Med with great weather year round.
True. I guess it’s understood Europe as London, Paris, Germany, Amsterdam etc. Southern Spain and Italy do have that “good” weather. Med weather ie Cali weather is cool to an extent. I’m a warm body person though. South Florida or the Gulf states is the ideal weather for me.

I’m trying to move to Okinawa now. The family came with me last year. We had a 7.1 earthquake happen off the coast, two typhoons hit, and North Korea shot a few off towards Japan as well. All within our 2 month stay.

My family has land on the coast of Belize but will that be there in 50-75 years?
:patrice:
I want to buy/build in Placentia but hurricanes can wash that area clean any year.

It’s all fun and games until you dig in and do the research.

I don't want to negate brehs thinking but I moved around a lot and know a lot of people that did the same so where I choose to hang my jat doesn't matter to me as much
My Dad was in the Navy. We moved every 3 to 5 years. When I listen to my Wife talk about all there friends came up together from ages 5-18 I’m like…
:ohhh:
That life is foreign to me. Even as an adult, I’ve had two deployments, lived in 7 cities and these last ten years worked out of an additional 5. I fool with two brothas I knew from college. The rest of my circle are just coworkers and church family.
:manny:
I’m happy.

I am plotting my move to DR when I retire. I will keep a house in the states, but will spend a majority of my time in DR. found some amazing houses for 500k ish
Is this in Punta Cana?

Buying a villa there I’d buy sooner rather than later if you’re buying in Puerta Plata or Caberete I’d wait. People overdeveloped there and Sosua doesn’t know if it wants to be a tourist town or a hoe town.
