For Black people only: why did so many of you believe O.J. was innocent? His DNA/blood was ALL over the crime scene. The defense played y'all bad.

Of course I get that. I lived through that era too.

That acquittal of the Rodney King incident scarred Black people. Not Black people in the US. No: Black people worldwide were shocked and scarred by this.

I've always been surprised that all those police officers lived.
At this time gang violence in LA was different than it is today: how these powerful, rich, influential gangsters didn't work and pay off LAPD officers to find the homes of these officers and kill them.. but they killed other Black men over walking in the wrong neighborhood will always baffle me.

About it not mattering if he did it: then why did so many Black people go on TV to say "Fuhrman set him up! He is 100% innocent!!"?

The DNA was planted.

Please show me proof that it was planted.

You saying that that is why he was acquitted is half of why this thread was made my brother.
:aicmon:
Some Black people said that he was innocent because they didn't want to say "If he did it I still want him free". :stopitslime:

Google EDTA and OJ trial.

Black people we sided with OJ just to go against the justice system, specifically after the Rodney King incident.

It didn't matter if OJ did it or not, he was sided with just to go against the system.

Also it was proven that blood evidence was planted, that's why OJ was acquitted.

Puure facts on the first 2 sentences.

In regards to the blood:

No, it was never proven in court that blood evidence was planted in the O.J. Simpson case.

However, the defense strongly argued that it had been. Specifically, they claimed:

  • LAPD detective Mark Fuhrman was racist and planted the bloody glove found at Simpson’s property.
  • The blood samples from the crime scene and from Simpson were potentially contaminated or tampered with, possibly due to mishandling or intentional framing.
  • The defense emphasized improper collection and storage of evidence, like blood vials not being sealed properly.

These arguments were enough to raise reasonable doubt for the jury, especially combined with the Fuhrman scandal (he was caught lying under oath about using racial slurs). But no forensic or legal confirmation of planting was ever made.

Here’s a quick breakdown of the major blood evidence controversies in the O.J. Simpson case:

1. The Bloody Glove at Rockingham:

  • Found on O.J.’s property by Detective Mark Fuhrman.
  • Defense claimed Fuhrman, who was later caught lying about using racial slurs, planted the glove to frame O.J.
  • The glove didn’t fit O.J.’s hand when he tried it on in court, leading to the famous line:
“If it doesn’t fit, you must acquit.”

2.

Blood in O.J.’s Bronco and Home

  • Blood from Nicole Brown, Ron Goldman, and O.J. was found in his Bronco, on his driveway, and inside his house.
  • Defense argued this could’ve been the result of contamination or planting, especially since some samples were mishandled.

3.

The EDTA Argument

  • A preservative called EDTA, found in blood stored in vials, was allegedly present in some blood stains.
  • Defense said this suggested blood was taken from vials (like the one with O.J.’s blood) and planted at the crime scene.
  • Prosecution said the EDTA findings were inconclusive and possibly due to lab contamination.

4.

Mishandling of O.J.’s Blood Sample

  • LAPD criminalist Dennis Fung and others carried O.J.’s blood around for hours before logging it into evidence.
  • The defense claimed this gave someone the opportunity to plant blood evidence.

5.

General Mishandling and Chain of Custody Issues

  • Multiple errors in how evidence was collected, stored, and documented.
  • These errors cast doubt on the integrity of the evidence, even if no direct planting was proven.

Bottom line:

Planting wasn’t proven, but the defense sowed enough doubt about the credibility and handling of the blood evidence that it helped secure a not guilty verdict.

The blood evidence assisted in making the jury question all of the EV that was submitted.

"The defense played y'all bad?"

Who is "y'all?"

Black folks know OJ did it, but LAPD was trying to frame a guilty man. Furhman got on that stand and Johnnie basically walked him right into a trap.

Also gotta add that OJ's eldest son with his Black wife was a combat knife specialist in the military. 6'0" 225 lbs+ and was a chef with access to top shelf cutlery. OJ/Johnnie/Shapiro never wanted Jason to get on stand because they knew he'd look and sound guilty

Getting Jason a lawyer was the first thing OJ did and for good reason.

Once a cop thats responsible for finding significant evidence get on the stand and plea the 5th to being racist, and planting evidence thats an automatic not guilty.

When you find out the a cop took the suspect blood in a tube and the cop had it in his possession for a day and the tube had signs of being tampered with, all blood evidence is non valid.

That is enough for anyone without feelings being involved to have reasonable doubt.
