for once Ill agree with one of your shytty threads.

with that said, its really hard for refs to see holds especially those where they arent blatant or obvious- a half a second quick hold pretty much all tackles will get away with. if its longer than 1/1.5 seconds tho....they'll start calling them

basically like in anything trench-related football its good to be subtle and have smarts to let go just barely holding

I saw offensive linemen yokin nikkas from behind. I saw them putting nikkas in headlocks. I see offensive tackles getting beat and then push nikkas from behind. ALL non calls. You can tell which teams hold the most by how they run the ball. It's hard to believe teams are shytty at run blocking but nice with the pass blocking. Night and Day with it? hell no.

I agree with you in general, but this here is :what:
pass blocking and run blocking requires pretty different skills to be honest. a tackle doesnt have to worry about the edge on a run play unless the run play goes around him, which is usually a pull/lead blocker play anyway.

but again, in general, its true. defense gets called for everything and offensive holds, only super blatant ones are called.

So. Cal
They say a ref can call a hold on almost every snap. Basically its a glorified judgement call. I cant count how many times matthews gets held without a flag being drawn.

It is what it is. Flow of the game is more important. What if it was a hand glancing an arm? No one wants bad calls or weak calls.

If they called all holds...games would last 7 hours. I guess if they called more holds...linemen wouldn't hold as often...hmmm:ehh:
