Yep, from what I've seen American kids tend to focus more on the social aspects of college.
I've seen taking out loans to party and make friendsPartying and drinking from Thursday right down to Sunday.
a big problem is the school's alot of african americans attend do not equip them well enough for college level stem stuff, it also doesn't help that a significant amount of black twitter users are social scientists (look at this rachel hashtag), I lose count trying to keep up will all these new phrases and social theory’s
When unveiling a new edition of the iPad, Steve Jobs explained that “it’s in Apple’s DNA that technology alone is not enough — that it’s technology married with liberal arts, married with the humanities, that yields us the result that makes our hearts sing.”
Innovation in business has always involved insights beyond technology. Consider the case of Facebook. Mark Zuckerberg was a classic liberal arts student who also happened to be passionately interested in computers. He studied ancient Greek intensively in high school and majored in psychology while he attended college. And Facebook’s innovations have a lot to do with psychology.
Alright, im about to fukk up some dreams.Yeah, no doubt. But, from my experience, working with people who are just in it for the money is easily one of the worst parts of engineering. They aren't genuinely interested and don't give their full effort.Depends on the person. Some kats I knew out a picture up on the wall of engineer starting salaries as a motivation. It is all about how the person is built.
Thanks for that. These reports piss me off like just because brother steps foot on a college campus, he has the foundation for that type of stuff. The average black youth is not prepared for the rigors of STEM. It's akin to throwing a naked man at the base of Mt. Everest with no gear and saying there's 10 million dollars at the top if you make it.
which is why, internships and co-ops are important. They can segue into a full blow job after college or at least get you experience to make the job search process easier.Alright, im about to fukk up some dreams.
For Minorities, STEM will get you cash, but they don't tell you Catch-22.
The Levels for Computer Science is like this.
Now companies are a bit eh on Indian visas, because they only have them for a limited time, and then they gone. So Minorities can feast, but there is like 5% entry level jobs. So it's a Catch 22. If you ARE able to get a entry level job, then you will get major money, but thats if you can find one.

Many college brehs fail to do this shyt from the onset, this is money. This is the UK to a T. RuthlessYeah American culture is totally different in college. It is a chance to experiment and enjoy your youth. In other countries it is all business because the country is poor or well off economy where there are few jobs so you have to get a degree and do well. Or else you will stay poor and live with your family until you are 50.
America is one of the few places in the world where you can not have a degree of two year degree and still be able to get a well paying job (such as truck driving, working on a oil field....etc). Try to live in some of these other countries and make a living with out a least a two year degree.
