Try to be happy around your kid. It'll be hard sometimes but kids are amazing mood rings, especially babies.
Contrary to popular belief, you can't spoil a baby. Picking him up when they cry is always a better alternative to letting them cry it out. They don't understand that you trying to teach them a lesson and can't comprehend more than base needs. Don't worry about spoiling kids until the 2s and 3s.
Try not to sleep with your newborn in the bed with you. Ask an EMT or a nurse about how common it is for parents to roll over on their newborns.
Have fun. Having a kid is awesome, breh. About 6-7 months in when personalities start to develop is an awesome time.

My son likes to see what he can get away with but will still stop to bring me a bandaid anytime I say "Oww".

I'm not really worried besides the typical anxiety of it getting closer and closer. More concerned with if something hapoens health wise. Yeah we aren't going to sleep with him. He's got a thing right next to our bed. And I've heard so much about picking them up vs not when crying. Either way I don't think i could just let my little man cry without picking him up.

make him feel like he can talk to you about anything-remind him of it a lot.
Give him a skill while he's still young, for example I'm teaching my son how to program computers and I show him how important math is for video games ( gave a presentation at his school about it )
Don't listen to rap music around him.
Put some money in a CD for him now and just keep putting money it when the roll over grace period hits after it matures.

Don't buy them expensive baby clothes and toys even though you want to spoil them some they grow out of stuff so damn fast it's crazy.

Help your lady with getting up in the middle of the night, take turns.

Y'all got me more pumped for him now. Good advice coli dudes! He is gonna be a CEO while still hating corporations. Don't ask me how. Haha. My girls got two nieces who are about to be two so I've been playing fake dad trying to get my dad HP up. Way different then new born but still. I'm going to tell him to question everything while still being a respectful young dude. This is my one and only too. Gotta make him awesome.
