For some reason I just cannot get into Reasonable Doubt

I've never really been much of a Jay-Z fan and I always used to hate his music without really giving him much of a chance. So recently I decided to listen to Reasonable Doubt. While the production is great throughout and it's lyrically sound, there's just something about it that stops me from getting into it that I can't quite put my finger on.

I'm not sure if it just sounds too materialistic too me, or if his flow is just uninteresting to me; I'm not sure. I'm just having a hard time liking it when I feel like I should otherwise.

Am I the only one who feels this way?

Not a huge Hova fan at all,this the only album of his i can listen to again and again,that might be my bad but of them all i think this is his best stuff.

Might be that you just don't wanna like it... you said you like the beats, you like the lyrics... any other reason you have to not like it is stubbornness.

it might be that the production is very laid back, its alot less energetic than the rest of jay's catalouge, its not bad, just kinda mellow. i think you kinda gotta be in the right mood for it.

i like about half of the album. the first 6 tracks are cool, and "can i live" but the rest of it never really moved me like that. just kinda loses my interest

totally agree.

it's the way Hov rides the beats too. Great album all things considered, but the album as a whole never moved me.
