For such a violent and narcissistic country, A lot of Americans are extremely passive when it comes to the government.

The French and Russians would had already overthrown the government by now if they were in America’s shoes. I’m not condoning violence or anything but I find it remarkable how Americans allow themselves to be treated like complete garbage by the very people who were sworn in to protect them.

It’s bad enough majority of the country are living paycheck to paycheck, have to deal with bad healthcare, high cost of living and little to no worker rights and protection due to capitalism. Now food is being taken away from half of the population and Americans are just going to accept that without as much as a protest? :francis:

America economically speaking is used to being top dog, they aren't willing to give up that seat if it means an imbalance in their economics.

Also pay attention, you start mentioning social program or anything slightly socialist then ppl will start foaming at the mouth and call you commie, like we're back in the mccarthy era

Just give time itt, like clockwork the posters will show themselves

The real reason why most are against those is because of racism. :francis:

I promise you if America was 100 percent white (not even including Latinos and Asians) then all this “socialist” talk will go out the window.

Oh that's no doubt, that is a given 100%. We are seeing it in real time with the Trump election and the salty white tears that are flowing.

I guess the leopard eating their face wasn't enough for them.

It's not enough that white america must succeed, they want to see black people fail in the process. fukk 'em :pacspit:

:russ:Breh, you really just answer your own question in a roundabout way. So long as it's look like the right kind of people are being hurt, :mjpls:people don't care. Go look for that racist AI video thread:mjpls: on here of Black women being made to look like they're panicking about SNAP and EBT being cut off.
The New York Times published an interesting report over the weekend on the real-world effects of Donald Trump's trade war, highlighting some of those who feeling the greatest pinch. Of particular interest, the article noted an electronics company in Michigan, which is "mulling the possibility of moving its production to Mexico to escape the tariffs that President Trump has put on imported components."

The Times quoted the company's chairman, Pat LeBlanc, a Trump voter who now believes the president's policy will slice his profits in half. "I just feel so betrayed," he said. "If we fail because the company is being harmed by the government, that just makes me sick."

The quote came to mind this morning, reading a new article from the New York Times today on Jackson County, Fla., in the state's panhandle, which was already struggling in the wake of Hurricane Michael, but which is now also feeling the adverse effects of Trump's government shutdown. The piece included this anecdote:

A few miles away, another prison employee, Crystal Minton, accompanied her fiancé to a friend's house to help clear the remnants of a metal roof mangled by the hurricane. Ms. Minton, a 38-year-old secretary, said she had obtained permission from the warden to put off her Mississippi duty until early February because she is a single mother caring for disabled parents. Her fiancé plans to take vacation days to look after Ms. Minton's 7-year-old twins once she has to go to work. The shutdown on top of the hurricane has caused Ms. Minton to rethink a lot of things."I voted for him, and he's the one who's doing this," she said of Mr. Trump. "I thought he was going to do good things. He's not hurting the people he needs to be hurting.":mjpls:

I've seen plenty of memorable quotes from Trump voters over the last couple of years, but "he's not hurting the people he needs to be hurting" is among the most striking.

It captures an amazing perspective: some Trump voters expected the Republican to punish some people if elected, but they assumed they'd be spared. Trump would hurt those people, the sentiment went, but not us.

It was easier to fight the government before they got F-14’s, F-22’s and F-35’s. I mean even Biden said that straight up when talking about MAGA trying to use physical force against the government.

At the end of the day most citizens know they’d get folded if trying to do something by force.

Crazies tried storming the white house a few years ago. One bullet stopped it all. They’re willing to kill.

If you don’t have nukes you probably don’t think about attacking this country.

You lost all credibility in your opening sentence.

Donald Trump almost got his literal wig split on national tv not even 12 months ago.

Meanwhile Putin enemies keep accidentally falling out of windows 12 stories up and he's tanking their economy and has sent atleast 300,000 Russian men to their gruesome death in what amounts to a pet project to him in capturing Ukraine

Do better :francis:

Its simple why

Americans have been taught since toddler age that the Government is their ultimate savior to solve all of their problems. Its the exact opposite of how other countries few their Government

:russ:You sure about that? I think I'm pretty sure that the fear of big government has been something the Republican Party has been running on since Ronald Reagan.

Hold on bro now you not gonna say there’s not been a protest. The No Kings Protests have been happening regularly but I mean yeah it’s a little soft. End of the day people need a leader. We’re gonna have to figure it out but rn no one is trying to really go scorched Earth. Best we’ll get is a South Park episode.

I think it’s being shown rn that peaceful protesting ain’t really shyt, bodies gotta start dropping. Charlie Kirk moved the needle way more as far as coverage goes.

:francis:In the wrong way, it just gives the Republican Party and their supporters the green light they need to justify going hard after people to the left of them. At the end of the day, the problem is people voting these Republican politicians' a$$holes into power in great numbers; they are the ones giving Trump the power and the protection he needs to do anything he wants.:snoop:

Im surprised at how many posters under estimate the power of white supremacy. A study in American history is an exploration in how this one ideology has constantly torpedoed America's attempts to deal with an inequality that has been in place from its founding.

The psychological wage of whiteness was in question for over 70 million americans. They thought "if I wont get the wages I'm owed financially, there's no way in hell I will allow myself to be equal to anyone other than those who look like me"

Time and time and time again white people have shown they will ruin and degrade something they value and even themselves if it means others will suffer more. White people aren't going to risk anything. Ironically political violence was even far more common in the past. People would die and there would be riots over elections. We've been living in relatively peaceful times actually.

Uh huh, I don't do Political Party cheerleading
The irony is that your post exactly makes my point. Ya'll are so caught up on Political Party vs Political party the thought of overthrowing the entire government and throwing away both parties doesn't even cross ya'll minds :francis:
