For the first time in NBA history, the top 3 players are arguably internationally born. How do you feel about this?

Gianni’s, Luka, Jokic

While there’s clearly an agenda being pushed(there’s no way Jokic should have won mvp over Joel) you cannot deny the changing of the guard.

If the NBA is defined by eras, then what do we name this one?

Unlike previous eras, which were defined by Michael Jordan and “who is the next Michael Jordan”, this might be the first time in a long time where the conversation will finally shift to something else.

Watching these dudes ball internationally this summer been fun.

I'm more curious to know if any of them are down with the clown

Well it's hard to imagine many organizations in sports that got more money than the NBA

They already have the beginnings of doing that in Africa with the BAL

I mean the NBA operates in one country and I'm not too sure how hands on they are with the Africa league and who is possibly funding that. We already know the NBA runs one league that is a net-negative (WNBA)...to jump in with making a Euroleague might just be too much.

How do you even break this NBA Europe league down...is it one solo team for each country like the Olympics or is each country going to have their own league like they already have. Spain has La Liga basketball as does France...those leagues are well established and for the NBA, it's probably more financially sound to just sign players from those leagues or have exhibition games against those teams rather than build leagues to compete with them.

As it is, the NBA's global plans have worked...now they just have to fill in the areas where there is no basketball league foundation like Africa, and even then, that is being done to funnel talent towards the NBA.

Saw this international revolution coming back around 08 or 09 when Ricky Rubio’s can’tshootforshyt ass was being highly sensationalized before the 2009 draft. It’s funny because he’s a decent shooter now, it must of been a confidence thing with him. It’s been brewing for over a decade now, we didn’t just wake up today with Luka, Giannis, and Jokic

Luka is absolutely Top 3 lol. He's a bigger, even more skilled version of James Harden.

Honestly, I think he's already the best player in the League but he needs to hardware first.
Curry handled him with ease in the playoffs. He hardly tries on defense and dominate the ball to be effective. You think he’s the best but that’s where it stops

Jokic goes off in the playoffs to where? Give me Giannis Steph and KD over him any day.
Jokic has the #4 all-time Playoff PER and the #3 all-time Playoff BPM. He's been elite in the playoffs his whole career averaging 24 PPG, 12 Reb, 6 Ast, 52 FG%, 40 3P%.

We might actually be witnessing at least a 10 year stretch where a foreigner is the best player in the world instead of a Black American.

Only ones that can currently compete with Giannis/Luka for that throne are Zion/Ja who are simply worse versions of both of them. :sadcam:
Giannis aint tryna deal with a focused Zion for 7 games imo :hubie: Luka/Ja is a closer matchup for sure

Nah the young Americans will represent. Jayson Tatum, Brandon Ingram, Ja, LaMelo, SGA, DeJ Murray, Evan Mobley, Antman Edwards. One of those guys will win MVP within the next 5 years.

So? Did he get to a finals or win anything? I’m not saying he can’t but he ain’t do anything to be top 3 over Curry and KD yet

Tatum is better than Ja and Zion easily. Zion can't stay on the floor, Ja can't play a lick of defense and he's too little.

If I'm not contributing to the NBA's talent pool whether it be me or my sons, why should I have any opinion whatsoever on where the best in the league originate from? They're not taking opportunities from myself or my children.

Seems completely pointless and a waste of emotion to me :unimpressed:

I wouldn't expect them to jump in head first, it would definitely incremental. You'd likely base it in the UK with intentions of it bridging the best talent in the continent to it once your established and profitable. The only thing I don't know is how many basketball-ready venues the UK has, I'd imagine you'd make a small number of teams based on where those venues are and start from there. Would likely be expensive considering they likely already house other teams and leagues, but that's the only logistics I think would be any kind of struggle.

I don't believe the BAL is intentioned solely to serve as a feeder for the NBA either, I believe it's designed to someday become self sufficient, and I don't think it's comparable to the WNBA because I don't believe the interest was ever there, it was made in spite of that. I believe the interest is there in this case.

:mjlol:

Ain't SGA Canadian anyway? Never mind the fact that he's going into his fifth season with zero all star appearances
