For some people it's kinda understandable.
Yanks really have no need to leave the States seeing as you can do pretty much any type of holiday within America; beach, historical, city breaks, stag dos, ski, mountain/forest retreats, debauched, etc.
Not only that, but when they do leave their country, they tend to be annoying, insufferable, pompous jerks, so maybe it's a good thing they don't travel much.

traveling is absolutely a privilege. I've met many folks in different countries who've never even been their city's airport. some cannot afford and quite frankly don't care. It's not that big a deal. if you like traveling then travel. But you don't see hardcore gamers out here trying to shame or rationalize why you couldn't possibly be interested in the new Call of duty bout to drop

I'm a college student with few resources.
1. I barely have any family down south-where a lot of great sites are located but I've seen the coasts and I still need to see more like the Maryland shore area and the new museum in DC.
2. Mostly the southern states like s.Carolina- would be fascinating to go explore Gullah country and also Mississippi-had a best friend from Jackson who passed and his description of the life there always stuck with me so I wanna see it myself.
