I recommend that you sign up for this program so that you don't miss this next paycheck IF the government is still shut down. It's a 0% APR loan that will be paid once your direct deposit hits whenever the government shutdown ends, and federal funds are disbursed.

Contrary to popular belief, the military is NOT exempt from funding freezes due to government shutdowns.

IF YOU DO NOT OPT INTO THIS PROGRAM (if you bank with Navy Fed), THEN YOU WILL NOT GET PAID ON THE 15TH!

Additionally, Navy Federal doesn't run your credit for this, so don't worry if you have ass credit. Although, from what I hear, USAA and other banks actually will, so God help you other níggas:pachaha:.

Edit: There's a resolution in congress for military members to get paid during the shutdown. Likely won't get passed by the 15th, but here's the tracker:

2nd Edit: In the disclosure, NavyFed is only able to guarantee a single paycheck, so the one on the 15th. If that resolution doesn't pass, or the government shutdown doesn't end prior to the 30th, you're fúcked.

Navy Federal has a long history of discrimination practices towards Black members. They are just as bad as banks like HSBC, Wells Fargo, BOA, etc.

I switced to a different credit union after they got caught again with the discrimination bull shyt.

What about civilians who have navy fed?

I signed up when I was in the marines but I’ve been out for a while now. They always look out for me

I could use this but I moved my retirement checks over to Schwab.

Maybe I should switch back just to be safe.

"You May Be Eligible If Your Pay Is Impacted

To help members affected by the government shutdown, we’re again offering assistance. You may be eligible for this aid if you meet these 3 criteria:

1. Your pay is impacted by the shutdown
2. You've set up direct deposit of pay with Navy Federal
3. You're one of the following:

A federal government employee
An Active Duty servicemember
A federal government contractor paid directly by the federal government"

Pulled straight from the site.

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
If you get a credit card or take out a loan with NFCU…….. pay that shyt or close your account. Because if you don’t, and you have money in any account, that will take that shyt with the quickness.

So it’s not a banking option for everyone. It’s easy to get a credit card or loan, but you have to be responsible.
