For the people who actually like Joe Biden... how?

I like Biden. I think he could be our generations LBJ without the Vietnam. I think he will do a lot to bring equality to minorities in America. I think deep down he feels indebted. Obama elevated his career and southern blacks essentially gave him the presidency.

However bad Biden is, Trump is objectively worse.

For every dumb, questionable, or borderline racist statement Biden has made, Trump has 50+.

I don't think there's a single person here who voted for him in the primary. Regardless of how bland his platform is, he has the political capital to undo all the dumb sh*t Trump has done.

If he's what we're stuck with, I'd rather vote for him than the alternatives of staying home, voting Trump, or voting third-party. The time for moral posturing is in the primaries, and that has passed.

First, I think he was the best candidate to beat Trump this cycle and it wasn't close. Trump got himself impeached trying to stop him.

Second, he knows how to build a coalition. I thought he consolidated support within the Democratic Party far better than Hillary and I trust him to put together a solid, educated team in the White House.

Third, I think he has a good sense of history and legacy. I think that's important given that this is probably his last act. I think he's going take on much more risk a lot more than people think policy-wise.
:ehh:

Very good, but I'll counter.

1) He could not get out of the primaries twice
2) He has a history of saying stupid things
3) People want more then back to normal.

As an aside, black folks need to take some blame. Two black candidates ran and they chose Biden over them.

Geez.....I don’t remember Biden going on national tv telling ppl to inject bleach and put uv rays under their skin to combat coronavirus.

:steviej:
Man he said he was in Vermont when he was in New Hampshire, yelled at Warren during a debate and said his wife was his sister lol.

Still, I support him.

1. Don't see what this has to with 2020.
2. Great. Put that in the con column. Shouldn't stop him from being president. He's better than the opposition.
3. You'd have to quantify that for me and regardless, his platform isn't a return to the Obama-era nor is it a full progressive agenda.

Why are you blaming black people for anything if that's who they wanted? :childplease:

Good points.

On black people, we always say we want representation, and this year was an opportunity we let slip. What was wrong with Cory or Kamala on top of the ticket?
