A lot of those murders would not have been brought to light in the 90s. Now the same thing is going on but we’re actually seeing how unjust America is in real time. I’ll say it again the police have been killing Black people nonstop for decades. Now the whole world gets to see and I get to make a decision on how they going to react.

You missed what I said. I said the phrase “I like my racism out in the open” is not anything new. I’ve heard people say that way before I ever visited the Coli.

i'm from the north which has just as many racists as the south but they keep it on the dl. i've been pretty happy with the proliferation of shyt like blue lives matter/confederate flags because it lets me know which businesses not to patronize. if they weren't in the open about it i might end up enriching one of these racists which would be a worse outcome than them flying some flag imo.

I'm talking bout the past couple administrations compared to this one. I'm not comparing the civil rights era to now, as I imagine most of us weren't alive during that time to form a comparison

Black people need to know who the enemy is. Either situation is not ideal for black folks but at the very least with racism out in the open we know what we're dealing with and who our allies are.


I don't think the black agenda/plight would be getting discussed as much in the mainstream as it is now with Trump in office. Even ADOS and reparations are actually being discussed now. If Hilary were in there would still be a veil over the public's eye I think.


It's also a matter of personal preference, I prefer that people show who they really are from the jump

So, just so I understand you correctly...

When you talk about "open racism vs closeted racism" you're not really talking about someone who has racist desires but doesn't act on them.
You're talking about open racism as in the racist acts that are already happening should be getting documented and shown to the world instead of being hidden in the shadows?

If that's the case, I agree with you on that.


However there are many people that I have talked to that are talking about the former, not the latter

I say this only because racism never truly goes away and progress can only come from directly tackling overt racism.

Covert racism, on the other hand, is what led to most of our systemic injustices. Coded policy in every level of government. It’s subtle microagressions that drive you crazy. Racism that you can’t prove.

If I could have my way, I’d prefer the shyt out in the open. People are gonna be racist regardless, don’t hide that shyt behind a fake smile or some coded nonsense.
