time is the one universal healer of depression... as long as you can give yourself some time to relax... it can be late at night watching movies and sleeping a good 7 hours... your going to get better... just try and do one thing everyday you enjoy... like watching an episode of sopranos or something...

one other thing is go for walks... find a podcast you like (there are 100000000s) and walk for an hour a day.... it will do wonders... the dude who said hes been indoors since 2008... i feel for you breh... but you need to go outside... even if its just walking around the neighbourhood listening to a playlist of songs u were into when you were younger.

Like others said, working out, eating better, and getting some sunlight helps a lot. I also got more serious about my photography and it has been therapeutic for me also. I also take meds tho because my depression was actually worsening as I got older. I would also say you need to deal with whatever underlying issues that is causing the depression. How you deal with it is up to you, but I think a psychologist or counselor would be helpful.

You have your good and bad days. Thankfully I have way more good than bad, exercise, meditation, poetry all help me deal with it. Never keep issues to yourself because they'll just eat you alive.

Professional help? I can't afford it. And my family aggravate my depression. My best friend lives out of state.

I have good coping skills. Taking things one day at a time. Blocking things out. Trying to think positive.

Honestly, I don't think that I am clinically depressed but I have been having suicidal thoughts for years. My life seems hopeless and going nowhere. And it only gets worst the older I get. I've been hoping I die young or end up in some car accident or something.

I'm probably just stressed the fukk out. I need to get away from my family. I know I can kill myself a thousand ways whenever I'm ready ( hence when I have enough), I just take it a a day at a time to see if things ever get better.

Y'all motherfukkers need to meditate  all of yall. I went thru my stint a few years back... That's the worst I've ever felt in my entire life :sadcam: once you realize how much of what you're stressing over is bullshyt though? :ohhh: :blessed:I don't it like I used to, but I'm a firm believer in meditation. Hell, there's scientific research backing it up :usure: if you want change then you really need to learn how to go within... Stop thinking and just BE for a moment a day. It sounds silly but when you finally realize and apprappreciate alive you truly are :wow:

Being a depressed black man is one of the toughest challenges ever. People are mostly apathetic and unsympathetic about your plight. If you try to talk about your problems people just say, "Man up!", "Stop being a p*ssy!", "STFU", "Stop crying like a fakkit!" It's impossible to get help. I've been suffering from long term depression since 2008 and barely leave the house. The only people I physically interact with are my parents. On the internet I'm on here and gamefaqs and some other site.

If I disclosed more information you guys would probably call the cops or some shyt.

I been there before. Mad people were shytting on me for no reason just because I was :manny: about not going outdoors and playing video games all day.

Eventually just find a bunch of non judgmental people that respect you for who you are.
