It does. Looking at a bunch of pictures never made anyone smarter; art included. Again I like words, discussion and context...which instagram is not very strong on. I use it for business and that is it.

I never had an Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook. I'm not gonna lie, I'm kind of proud of that, even though a lot of people think it's pretty lame. I just never "got" the whole social media craze. This is going back to the days of MySpace and Black Planet too, I never had them either.
I'm not a contrarian, I'm just a private person by nature. I really don't care to share the details of my life like that, and I'm not interested in those of others. For me, social media would be "forcing it" it's just not natural. My family is legit pissed that I'm not on Facebook They think I'm on some high and mighty shyt.
I knew the shyt was a problem when I started meeting girls/networking in public and people would ask if I'm on Facebook, and when I said no, people would hit me with the making a nikka feel all weird and shyt. Man, that shyt just ain't for me.

I sometimes organize parties and events and it's so hard to include people who aren't on social media. This isn't high school where you can see everyone all the time.

I only use it as a tool to promote whatever music or showcase i have going at the time. I also look at it for gym tips and i post my sneakers on there from time to time. Other than that... meh. Everyone looks the same, does the same, and acts like they're doing it bigger and better than the next person. Its repetitive. You see the same memes, the same corny "deep" quotes, the same videos. Everyone thinks they are so funny or so smart. Facebook is too much shyt.
