so the context is Biggie had told producer Rashad Smith what to sample and to hold the "Doin it" and "Loungin" beats for him till he got a budget for LAD. Rashad was in tough spot financially and told Puff to give him a down payment for the beats. Puff never gave him sh and i believe Chris Lightly was asking to hear some beats for LL's "Mr. Smith" album and he accidentally played him "Doin it" which BIG really wanted that to be his first single off LAD. He told him he was holding them for BIG but Chris said whatever they paying you i'll double it. So instead of talking it out with BIG he sold them for 30gs a pop which included the Loungin beat. BIG a few weeks later told Rashad he was ready but had to break it to him that he sold them cuz the money was right there. BIG was HEATED AF to the point that he never f*cked with Rashad ever again. LL does what he does to Doin it which i BELIEVE was meant for LL, he brought something fresh with that joint BUT "Loungin" was something that BIG would've def had a hit on. We all know the story, trackmasters went on to remix Loungin and it became what it became, a totally different song and a smash hit while the original "Loungin" became kinda forgotten. again, BIG would've def MURKED this beat and had a classic, this was BIG's pocket!
