Former High School Athlete Brehs

How did you guys deal with your career ending. Entering what I think is my final week as football player at 5-4 ,were playing against a probable top 5 seed in the playoffs and the most likely undefeated champs of our district for homecoming. Don't know what ima do after this week unless we and some others win out we won't be in the playoffs and I won't be a football player for the first time since like elementary, no more weightlifting or summer and spring workouts.

Why not keep playin after high school. Jr college, D2 or D3? I got a scholarship to play footbll at a D1 collge so I kept playin after high school

If you go to college, you can lift at the school gym and play intramural sports. If you arent, you can still join adult recreational leagues and tournaments.

Imma probably keep lifting and the coaching staff been talking to some schools and giving out tape but even IF something shakes two of my boys last year got out of state offers and ended up back here by the end of summer saying it wasn't the same no camaraderie and that it was more of a job.

dont let other people experiences turn u away, i made that mistake and i regret it. For all u know u would love it and actually get something from it. Maybe they didnt want it bad enough. U gotta be humble and hungry breh, dont turn down a chance to better yourself

After HS football and baseball I actually had to initiate conversation to make friends Groupies vanish and you start to feel even if you're not. I could have played at a D3 school but thought going to a major university was a better long-term goal. It was weird to socialize without sports, that's I've always made friends and met girls. Enjoy it while you can young blood.
