When was the last time a Democrat came out of a competitive primary and faced a popular incumbent GOP Governor in Maryland who has a $9M war chest from the Kochs, banks, big corps, and Big Pharma?
O’Malley didn’t have a competitive primary in 2006 and was able to pull up on Bob Elrich (who has positive approval) that summer.
That’s why.
Ben has a good ground game and early voting turnout is more than double 2014.
If overall turnout gets close to 2 million (campaign is aiming for 1.9 million), he’s got a shot. The numbers are on his side.
I really wished that I lived in MD so that I could vote for Ben Jealous.
