The media and Kobe was obsessed with putting him on the same level as Mike

Mike winning DPOY in 1988 was a reach

Defensive awards in the NBA are like Pro Bowls in the NFL..

shyt is mainly based on your "reputation"

"He walks and talks like Mike hey lets give him 1st team All Defense too" :mjlol:

This is about Kobe. Not LeBron. And LeBron stop being a great defender in 2014. Which was his last all-defensive selection.

This all defense shyt is really media contrived bullshyt and highly subjective

Kobe was a decent defender he wasn't like that though

And LeBron can still defend. Once the Lakers got Luka he had more energy to defend but he does it in spots. On certain possessions when you need a stop he will defend

Just like Kobe did. Just like all of them do as they get older

anytime a former player says anything that's not glazing Kobe, the Mambatards accuse them of being with Klutch:russ::laff:

a few years from now they'll be saying Katelyn Faber was paid by Klutch:picard:
So we agree with former player's opinions now :mjlit:

so when Barkley said LeBron was disqualified from GOAT conversation for chasing cheap rings in Miami we listen right :mjlit:

Papa w elve yon lach. Li wont ou, se poutèt sa li bat ou tèlman. :laff:

No, they didn’t because he wasn’t consistently guarding them after like 01. He would lock up for stretches but otherwise, he was scoring 30 a night. He was given those awards for being a good to great defender given his workload. But the award wasn’t given to straight specialists back then - it was disproportionately given to star players.

What difference does that make, WHEN he did guard them he got cooked. prime Ray Allen always gave him buckets. A lot of yall cats born after the fact couldn't see on the grainy ass VHS tapes us OG's handed down to you :russ:

He def didn't deserve 2011 and 2012 that was reputation for sure but others were deserved. Maybe there was some defensive specialist when he was droppin 32-35 PPG ya can say deserve it more but there always arguments for other defenders.

Whats not arguable Frobe was a ELITE best perimeter defender in the game level defender. And his defense specially in help and pick and roll the biggest reason Shaq ass stopped gettin swept left and right. Since Kobe became a full time starter all of a sudden we saw peak Shaq and his poor defensive coverage outside paint not taken advantage of routinely by teams in the playoffs

Karl Malone who was routinely eliminatin Shaq when he went out west before Kobe was a starter and playin big minutes

"The pick-and-roll is designed to put the pressure on people who didn't want to play it. Yeah, I am naming names right here. Shaquille O'Neal and Charles Barkley were the absolute worst big men who ever played the pick-and-roll! And we loved it, coming down the stretch, then you threw them in the pick-and-roll because they didn't want to play it,"

real ball talk right here :wow:

these nikkas are haters, barely watched Kobe play in real time and formed all their narratives from media propaganda.
