The original grand jury awarded him 137mil, but this was 2021…coming off the summer of 2020, all the “racial reckoning” talk, and Tesla/Musk’s stock 10x’ing while the ‘real’ economy was fukked up. 6mil of the 137 was for something like emotional distress or some shyt. The 130+ was based off the jury wanting to be punitive towards Tesla (because they are/were repeat offenders).Why dude fukk up his bag?
A judge, William Orrick, said that was too much. Reduced it to 15 mil, from what I understand this isn’t uncommon…but not knowing much about how that side of the system works, seemed

honestly its more on him. it's pretty standard when you go to court demanding ludicrous sums and win a case that the actual payment gets rationalized. dude kept putting new judges eyes on his settlement and they kept seeing less entitlement. he probably went thru several lawyers and against their advice
Uncle Sam is taking 50% so we down to $1.5m and I don't how lawyer fees look, but breh could walk away with $1m or less...that's an Ldid he really think tesla wouldnt try to lowball him up on appeal????
dont get me wrong $3M after is ok hopefully the lawyer fees dont eat that up...
