Seriously, think about it: They've been giving Roman big strong moments all year leading up to that point, and featuring him very prominently even when he was out for hernia surgery. Bryan had been out of sight and out of mind since July, while Cena has been around forever, and is thus kind of stale even to that crowd.
Reigns was the new hot thing, in a vote with a lot of guys in the category. Couple that with the kinds of fans that have the WWE app (hint: they're not astrophysicists), and Roman wins.
