Are the side activities worth it?

I can't play it but it sounds like racists had the loudest voice in the room from what I've heard and seen with this game. It seems like a lot of fun

the side quest is is straight up Ubisoft bloat. nothing special. sorry but after Nier Automata,Witcher 3,Spiderman, Ghost of Tsushima, and Forbidden West, I know better

Like resident evil 7 and the evil within 2 I expect games developed by Japanese but written/directed by Americans to have better dialogue than this. If the consensus is 'its bad because it's a jrpg' then I'm fine with that, I'm just annoyed by people giving it a pass because cacs are making clips of bad dialogue. Playing the opening (edit), the writing soured the game for me I don't understand why people are being so defensive about it and gaslighting, there are other games with Black characters.

It's not so much about giving the dialog/writing a pass, as much as how heavy of a lean into it that the consensus is trying to do with it. Like, yeah it's not great, but how weighted it's honed in on it is a bit absurd and very agenda sounding to some degree. Some are making it like the dialogue only is so terrible that it severely hampers the gameplay, which is silly in concept and it hardly did here anyways.

There's also some heavy undertones of women hating lately in games as the games when they're the protagonists or main side characters would happen to be the ones were gamers all of a sudden want them to "shut up already". It's type funny style.

I don’t even bother with the “defeat X enemies to get stats/mana” stuff. Just do the stuff for the gear and spells

TBF i didn’t like Nier sidequest either, outside of the fighting robot
