We’ve had like 12 in the last 5 years. The math ain’t mathing :heh:
Just relaying the info provided. They haven't recorded anything like this in Fort Lauderdale. I've been living in Broward my entire life and have experienced only one other instance of similar flooding a couple years back (swale area and some of the driveway). What happened yesterday was at least twice as worst (water was up to the one foot step of my front door and had minor flooding inside my house thru the backdoor). Even more perspective, my neighborhood rarely if ever floods.

@RGM
Airport will not officially open Until noon. They let people that wanted to leave at their own risk leave @ 2:30 near terminal one on the upper level. The lower level is not accessible.
We risked it and got an uber to miami international and have an early flight . But what is fukked up though is at FLL THEY cancelled every flight at like 8:00. Then auto rebooked everything for Southwest . after that if you were not happy with whay they did, you had to re book at the gate. Then-They asked you go to carousel 6 and got your checked bags. Once you did that, you could not come back inside. There were some upset people. We did not check any bags so we set in the terminal all night

We poured concrete on a swamp that meets the ocean

:yeshrug:

As a native Floridian I'm worried. Actually resigned, since our mayors and councils don't GAF.
It was never this bad growing up, shyt has only been getting worse year after year
Imagine an Andrew type cat 5 making landfall in South Florida
This shyt now is just water reclaiming it's level. We were never supposed to live here.

Houston the same way. A lot of SETX tbh

I was working from home all day and I don't live in a flood zone so I just thought it was raining hard. Didn't realize how bad it was until this girl I was texting was going to pick up her kids from her sister house in fort Lauderdale n told me her car just died on her and sent me these pics

If I wasn't at work I would've probably had to come save her :whoo:

The car shortage just got even worse with this :snoop:
