1. The sub-forums take up too much space on the frontpage of main forums. On my macbook, all content is below the fold (takes a full scroll, see screenshot) just to get to actual posts. Sub-forums at most should just display the name, with the description on the same line and maybe make the font smaller. KTT actually does this in a clean way:

2. The current new post format is a bit cluttered with the user info on the left. Post actions end up in the middle of the post, there's duplicate info, and the default actions are in non-intuitive places.
Just a quick suggestion (assuming this layout stays the same). Top post is current format, bottom post employs the following suggestions:
- remove name under the post, this functionality already contained under the avatar
- move date/time below avatar, generally not useful info
- move like/report to bottom right of post container (I think this is where it was in vBulletin?)
- move post number & reply to top right (the general format for BBS's)
Hopefully this removes/de-emphasizes non-essential info, puts post actions in top right, and puts post judgement in bottom right. Also, this makes the actual post presentation cleaner.
