1. The sub-forums take up too much space on the frontpage of main forums. On my macbook, all content is below the fold (takes a full scroll, see screenshot) just to get to actual posts. Sub-forums at most should just display the name, with the description on the same line and maybe make the font smaller. KTT actually does this in a clean way:

2. The current new post format is a bit cluttered with the user info on the left. Post actions end up in the middle of the post, there's duplicate info, and the default actions are in non-intuitive places.

Just a quick suggestion (assuming this layout stays the same). Top post is current format, bottom post employs the following suggestions:

- remove name under the post, this functionality already contained under the avatar
- move date/time below avatar, generally not useful info
- move like/report to bottom right of post container (I think this is where it was in vBulletin?)
- move post number & reply to top right (the general format for BBS's)

Hopefully this removes/de-emphasizes non-essential info, puts post actions in top right, and puts post judgement in bottom right. Also, this makes the actual post presentation cleaner.

i made some of the suggestions you had already regarding info in the posts. is it starting to look better?

i'll see what i can do about subforums being too large. im already planning to try to scale down the navigation throughout the board so that might address that issue

Looks cleaner already, good way to knock out easy mods.

I don't have the time, but you or some of the mods might want to do a 2-part usability research if you have time. As much as our feedback/suggestions can help, it's really singular data points that not everyone might agree on.

Part 1 - Easy: Research other XenForo boards with at least 1M posts (The Big Forum List | XenForo Community)

- Browse these other forums with similar traffic and see how they look, feel, differ. Make a list of what they do well that thecoli currently doesn't implement. Anything they do well I'm guessing would be easy to implement back into thecoli since everyone's on the XenForo platform.

Part 2 - Hard: Research other boards in the same content area (e.g. KTT, Hypebeast, etc.)

- Same thing, find out what these boards do well. Implementing their features will probably be tougher as there's always constraints on message board platforms, but if accomplished, would make thecoli the most unique/modded XenForo board.

-----

Anyways, good job on the migration, at the high level, the basics are functioning properly and the speed increase is noticeable. Just keep iterating based on feedback here and browsing other boards. I remember last year it took a while to sharpen vBulletin to where you wanted it, so I'm sure you'll get XenForo in the same shape over time. Good Luck Ya'll.

that's from the old code, where mentions were done with [mention]
now it's [user]

So @bk are you going to make the quote text larger. Seriously you can barely see the nikkas name thats being quoted. Like the shyt looks insignificant.

Props on making it so when you click a pic in the forum you get a interface where you can look at every pic in the thread and see who posted it. :blessed: Told you that shyt was fire.
