I am not sure what your last statement means - but you should talk to your therapist about your issues with your height. I know that EFT and EMDR are also helpful for emotional trauma. Best of luck.

Didn't know short !men actually took this to heart
I guess it's the same way darkskinned girls take insults about their skin color to heart, no real diff.
I never been on and plan to keep it that way but I do think all females are nuts lol.
You didn't ask me but its somewhat of an issue for men because like you said height is associated with protection. Men are expected to have unconditional confidence coupled and/or A1 social skills and resources so we wont express displeasure with out height but we know where female hearts are.
Ironically (or maybe fittingly) short women are most vocal about preferring height. Women in the average range of 5'4"-5"7" tend to be more lax and only ask that a man is taller than them, even if it's 2 or so inches. Once chicks hit like 5'8" they start to demand height again but they actually are warranted in that. Some brehs will testify to tall female-short male couples but I think that's usually for outrageously tall women (6'0"+) who can't afford to limit their dating pool to 6'4" cats.
I think 5'7" is the safety net for a breh being reasonably short in the eyes of women, lower than that and he may start to encounter some flack.
