Goyer released what he had as the script for the full season. He said they followed like 85-90% what he did/laid out. He posted cut scenes and shyt. Wish they wouldve used it because it makes the ending way better and sets up Bayta nicely.

How Hari knew "something was wrong" with Pirate Mule's story

I dont think it was a last minute swerve. They been planting seeds for it since Thorn/Bayta been on the screen. Think about how Pirate Mule was able to take over that whole fleet when we first saw him. He didnt do it on the battle field, Bayta converted all the higher ups during their wedding ceremony.

All that shyt with Pritchard recruiting Bayta/Thorn to help him in the club was him telling the mule shyt and she went right along with it to see what the Foundation was up to. Magnifico(Mags) came with her so easily because she was the real mule. Bayta was the one pushing for Mags to meet the foundation leaders.

When she had Mags play for Indbur and the others, that's when she converted them. That's why when Pirate Mule was still able to take over the Foundation's whisper fleet w/o having Mags with him didnt make sense. He shouldnt have been able to do it, but he did because Bayta was doing it and Mags was with her.

^This basically what happened and was setting up Bayta as Mule from the start. Some shyt was cut after Bayta said "Im the mule"

How Bayta/Mule got the pirates and Mags(he was playing for the pirates)

Definitely weird to not just kill that broad like she did faux mule

So seems this how the scene plays out and how Gaal ends up running.

No might about it. It's definitely getting cut. That's part of the reason Goyer left iirc. Only bright side is they may be using the framework Goyer left. Apparently Goyer had 2-3 different plans. One for the full 8 seasons, one that ended like season 6 and another that told the story in 4 seasons. Hopefully they follow the rest of his layout and finish it

Sitting with it a bit, I actually liked Lee Pace/Day's arc this season(saw some posts on socials saying ppl didnt like it). He went from seeing Demerzel as an machine to actually seeing her as "real". Seeing how she actually cared about him/them throughout the years. Sacrificed a lot to set her free/potentially saving the world. It didnt work because Dusk crashing out, but still.

Question about Dawn's nanites. I was under the impression that the space suit sucked the nanites out of Dawn for energy/heat. Did I read that scene wrong and the suit used his skin and his nanites arent working for some other reason?

I ask because Goyer made it seem like it was a mystery to be answered on why his nanites arent working.

So Goyer went on Bald Move's Foundation pod and talked about foundation and how things played out on his exit and his thoughts on the season.

-New team have his bullet points/guidelines for how to end the series, he doesnt know if they will use them. Says this season used 85% of the stuff he set up.
-New team is entirely new people. As in no directors, writers, vfx, assistants/creatives that worked with Goyer will be on the show.
-Each day filming cost between 250k-400k.
- Budget cut will be felt for the next season. He says Skydance tried to cut 20M from this season's budget but couldnt because most the stuff had been filmed already.
- Things cut to save on the budget:
----Demerzel confessing to the tower bombing went differently. Goyer wanted to make a flashback scene where Raysch and Harri investigate outside a station when the bombing happened. They find Demerzel in a spacesuit floating around, implying she did the bombing herself. Said it would spanned 4-5 days. Not doing the scene saved 1M.
----Cleon tank explosion. Team over that wanted 5 days to film it "right". They had to do it in 1 day. This saved another 1M.
----Cut scenes like what he posted on his website
-What he didnt like about this season
----Wishes there were less voiceovers. Said budget cuts were why they used a bunch of adr scenes. Says he wanted shots to convey to the audience the repetition of it.
----Wanted to shoot more solo character shots. Mentioned mimicking how it was done on Breaking Bad.
----He wouldve done the Gaal "passing time" thing differently. Wouldve shown scene of Gaal waking up each time or something like that.
- Hated working with the crytotanks. Was hard to rig cameras and shoot them because each tank needed safety things for actors.
-Covid is what really messed things up financially for the show, that added an extra 11M to the budget.
