Four members of the NYPD are under investigation after (deep breath) one officer posted photographs of her cheating sergeant boyfriend allegedly kissing another woman—who happens to be an officer married to a cop—on Instagram. The social media posting caught the attention of officials, who "seized" a "total of nine handguns... from all four cops," according to the NY Post.

The guns were removed due to "the potential for violent outcomes due to the sensitive nature of infidelity and everyone having access to guns," a source told the Post.

Officer Tyeis Coppin, who works in the 32nd Precinct, reportedly found photographs of her boyfriend, Sgt. Kandou Worley, who works in the NYPD's Strategic Response Group, kissing Stephanie Gallardo. Gallardo is also an officer in the Strategic Response Group, as is her husband Cristian Gallardo. Coppin allegedly posted the photographs of Worley and Gallardo on Worley's Instagram, with captions like "I told my girl I loved her 10 mins b4 I f---ed this one" and "She’s someone’s wife, she’s not my girl tho! I have one and this is not her!!!!"

The Daily News reports, "Gallardo was called in for an internal interview. She told the NYPD that she married her husband in 2014 — two years after attending the police academy together — and that while they have a 20-month-old daughter and continue to live together, they are now separated, according to the report. She said she dated Worley in September and October but was never intimate with him beyond kissing."

An internal NYPD investigation was conducted late last year, and all four remained on duty. The News notes, "While none of the four cops had threatened each other, the guns were removed as a precaution, sources said. All but Worley have their guns back, [an NYPD spokesperson] said. Worley could get his gun backs after he is interviewed by investigators, sources said."

The NYPD spokesperson also said that relationships between NYPD supervisors and subordinates were allowed, except in cases when the subordinate is a Police Academy recruit.
