haven't heard "candy lady" in a long time. The two in my hood were fronts for bootleg alcohol joints because our city was "dry" when I was growin up. Used to be funny to see a bunch of real old school heads drankin and playin the blues in front of the candy lady

my neighborhood had the raspa lady. She would sell frozen kool-aid in a cup for a dime plus assorted candies. She would give you a free raspa if you went and bought her a pack of buglers roll your own cigarettes. My cousins hood had a Vietnamese candy lady. She turned her garage into a little store. She had everything! chinese plums, icecream, cokes, anything a kid could want. It was the first stop after leaving the house and last stop before we went back home.

Actually, it adds a sweet flavor to the pickle like bread & butter pickles, except with a fruit flavor.

we been eatin those for yrs...i useta set up shop slangin them hoes when i transferred to dallas..went to quik check..got a big ass jar of sour..ziplock bags..already sweetened mountain berry, tropical punch n black cherry koolaid..n made a lil killing...

wait til they get a hold of the infused fruits that we been hustlin for a couple yrs now...
