It always amazes me how people complain about comics being "woke." Superman's first issues in the 30s and 40s, he was going against corrupt business owners, wife beaters, etc. Superman vs The Klan radio program in the 50s exposed the KKK and there were PSA's from Superman talking AGAINST racism, xenophobia, etc. The first issue of Captain America that was published almost a year before the United States entered the war, he was punching Hitler.
