She never really stated why but hinted about work that needed to be continued/finished.

I guess she was implying that this whole Trump vs. NYC case is her number one pursuit at the moment and if she ran for governor I think her involvement, in this case, would've taken a backseat because of the campaigning.

Someone in her ear probably told her that whatever the outcome might be, this could be a career case for her and her aspirations to be governor and so far it has been.

She already won a lot of NYS voters' support with her handling of the Andrew Cuomo case and assisting with a major drug and gun bust sting last summer.
