Its their first day.. let 'em breath and see how it pans out in the long run. They'll be some tweeks. I'm just happy there's a ESPN alternative now:gladbron:

this is win win for everybody:blessed:

:wtf: NBC Sports Network and CBS Sports Network have been around. Good to know you don't give a damn.

Fact of the matter is that y'all don't care about these alternative channels. What you hope is that they make ESPN do better so you don't have to change your viewing habits, which defeats the purpose of their efforts.

But they never went all the way with their programming like what Fox Sports 1 is attempting to do now. CBS Sports Channel is half azz and NBC Sports is finally getting their programming on especially since they've acquired the Premier League. Plus neither of these two had a full blown sports highlight show to go after Espn's Sportcenter. So in my book they didn't count.. especially CBS Sports Channel. they are a non factor

CBS and NBC from a college standpoint show a ton of shyt. If it's just about the pro stuff, yeah they could do more, but ultimately, y'all hate ESPN for the non-game programming, meanwhile, you couldn't tell me what they show otherwise. Hell, NBC Sports did something totally different from what you're used to as far as their "Sportscenter" so to speak and no one cares. People are too used to what ESPN gives them. Think about it. You hate what Sportscenter has turned into yet you want every alternative channel to mimic it because you're used to the formula.

From a radio standpoint, CBS is killin everyone and their national station is wrecking shyt. Ultimately, the truth though is that these other channels can give you everything you want but no one will change. Too loyal to the brand.

All CBS needs to do is get their writers and analysts on TV more because the roster they have is impressive.

The scrolling shyt on the right and bottom takes 50 percent of the screen real estate. It feels like I'm watching got damn Japanese news. Annoying as fukk.

But CBS and NBC don't show they're best games on these channels. THey need to throw them a bone every now and then to make them more relevant. If possible put a Notre Damn game on on NBC Sports Channel, at least once a year. CBS should put a major golf tournament on CBS Sports at least once a year.. shyt like that. Why not make you sister channel/underling more popular. When TNT first came on the scene and many cable companies didn't want to carry it. Turner in turn started to put playoff games on TNT instead of TBS- which everybody had and respected. So sports fans got pissed cause they were missing important playoff games and so the cable companies were damn near forced to add the fledgling TNT Channel. Now look at where TNT is today on the sports/NBA landscape.

Fox always spreaded their sports products around. Top ranked college football games on FX, big late round Champions League games on regular FOX and FX. Plus all they local individual Fox Sports Channels share games. THey've always spread the love all the way around so that you know the Fox Family is bout their sports and promoting all channels. NBC and CBS have never been about this. Especially CBS

-and who says I don't like ESPN programming?? :what:I guess I'm subbing in for the entire espn naysayers on The_Coli but personally- speaking for myself -this is far from the case Tre

That's ass backwards logic to them. It's like asking ESPN to put the National Title Game in college football on ESPNU. The best games will be on Network elevision. To think otherwise would be botching your own product, especially when you have no intention of making that a permanent fixture.

It's your underling. That's why. Explain this: how would a Notre Dame game on a weekend on NBCSN make me wanna watch their regular weekly programming? You're basically admitting nobody knows you have a channel even though you're the viewer dying for an alternative and that you're not trying hard enough to seek it. Who in their right mind at CBS would be like "in an effort to boost exposure for CBS Sports, we're gonna show Alabama /LSU there?" Also, as I'll get into in a minute, say CBS did put a major tournament on CBSSN instead of the main channel. What would you be showing on the main channel? You might as well take millions of dollars and chuck it into the Pacific Ocean.

As for your example, well, now look at TBS. They couldn't be bothered with sports other than MLB on Sundays and the NCAA tournament, and much of Turner's status with sports has to do with their links to CBS now. Ted loved sports so much he created an alternative channel. Had a spark when it started... Much of their relative disinterest outside of the NBA /Golf with TNT has to do with Ted Turner no longer owning it.

Fox always spreaded their sports products around. Top ranked college football games on FX, big late round Champions League games on regular FOX and FX. Fox had no choice but to do this because their main channel would have something else that was sports related. CBS and NBC don't have the amount of sporting events available to show all at once to pull that off, but be that as it may, the shyt that annoys people is the actual programming and coverage, not what sport gets shown. shyt, NBATV shows games, but nobody here will be like "yo did y'all hear what Isiah Thomas said on GameTime?" You could give these channels all the sports ESPN has. But what will make ESPN lifers change to other networks?

You're going to the extremes with the examples I gave. No CBS or NBC will not put a national championship calibur type game on their fledgling networks. And they wouldn't put a #1 vs #2 college game on either. But damn they can throw them something sproatically. You mean to tell me CBS can't put one mid level SEC football game on CBS Sports once a year?? :why:Don't act like it can't be done. CBS Sports gets crumbs from big brother. FOX throws FX big soccer matches which aired on weekdays like a Tuesday & Wednesday afternoon. The regular FOX channel is showing soap operas or the View or some shyt at that time. I wasn't just talking about college football saturdays. I'm personally not on the edge of my seat on some, "wow I wonder which viewer's will defect from EPSN to FOX 1... the answer: Nobody. ESPN set the bar too high. They've mastered the art of sports television. They have their own award show for crying out loud. What everyone is smiling at is that finally somebody said fukk and lets put a show and channel in an attempt to go at espn. And to keep it real, they're greatest strength could end up being their actual live games and nothing else. Its just the fact that they had to balls to start this up full throttle and not half azz it like CBS Sports Channel and NBA TV. For right now I'm just applauding that and that only. Espn will always be king but now they know that rocks are being thrown at their throne

They already do.

Put it like this (college basketball example). They'll show you a UNLV /New Mexico game. You'll just be too busy watching Kentucky /Florida on CBS to give a damn

FOX throws FX big soccer matches which aired on weekdays like a Tuesday & Wednesday afternoon. The regular FOX channel is showing soap operas or the View or some shyt at that time.

That's because this country doesn't flip out over soccer so bad that they want their weekday regular programming to constantly get interrupted by it. No major network channel does this during the week. I don't see why you expect Fox to do so consistently. Showing soccer matches instead of those court shows and Dr. Oz is ignoring who actually watches your channel during the day (this is where we falsely believe that everyone wants to watch sports as much as we do)

What everyone is smiling at is that finally somebody said fukk and lets put a show and channel in an attempt to go at espn.
There's already 2 channels doing it though. Hell, 4 more if you wanna count MLB, NBA, NFL and NHL having their own networks (and they show games too). Just cuz you might think they suck doesn't mean they're not doing it. The only way ESPN will lose TV traction is through other mediums of getting information which they have a major hand in as well.

cbs sports was always showing on point mid major hoops games, or games from big conferences between decent schools. it was always up against shyt like michigan/michigan st on espn so no one gave a fukk. youd have butler/vcu or wichita/creighton type matchups all the time on there
