You're bugging, "everybody sold records" is a cop out she was a star and has a bunch of hit records. Her career would have been even bigger if she wasn't a headcase.
Foxy had a longer run than Lauryn if we want to be technical, Foxy was hot for 5-6 years, Lauryn was hot for 4 years. Once 2000 rolled around, Lauryn became trash musically. Foxy might have made a comeback with "Come Fly With Me" in 2005 but she lost her hearing. Look at all the females that were honored and ask yourself if they had longer runs than Foxy. You have to put Latifah & Lyte before her as pioneers, even though Foxy has more hot records. Salt & Pepa, once again, pioneers. Missy excelled as an artist and a producer, so she is up there. Lil Kim was relevant for a good 10 years with the comeback in 2005, the longest run of any female rapper ever. But then after those people, Foxy is up next.
Foxy and Lauryn are the only females left to be honored, I wouldn't consider anyone else great. Eve had a run, but she didn't really change anything. Eventually Nicki gets her props, because she changed the game too.
What ill is that talent wise, Foxy and Lauryn are at the top off the food chain as far as female rappers go. I put them up there with Latifah. But they're both nutcases.

kim and foxy are widely interchangeable. they shoulda both been there, but i dont really care. lauryn not being honored is a joke though. i dont even fux w/ her crazy arse, but she's the only chick in that whole group of women that can shyt over her whole fanbase and still sellout essence, right now because of two albums that sold a zillion copies and inspired a generation of women.
I Shot Ya remix dropped late '95, Ain't No Nygga & Touch Me Tease Me dropped in '96.
Broken Silence dropped in 2001 and went gold. BK Anthem & Oh Yeah were getting major airplay out here.

Lil kim is one the greatest female emcees ever & foxy & nicki are her children

Hmmm.. a case can be made for Da Brat. I was going to say she lacked influence, but then there's Shawnna. But even though she may have paved the way for Shawnna, they both got the fast rap style from Twista.
The fact that the world knew that Da Brat was a Frankenstein creation hurts her legacy. She was clearly a fusion of Jermaine Dupri, Snoop Dogg & Twista. She has the accolades and the influence to get honored though.
She does herself no favors by still dressing like it's 1993. It just reminds you that she was a bit of a gimmick.
Mia X didn't have enough resources put behind her solo career to really fulfill her potential.
Her accolades have been broken down for you by several people in this post. Your denial says more about your character (or maybe your age) than it does about Foxy's career. Don't let the fact that you don't like someone or something stand in the way of the facts.

with all due respect, mia x didn't do anything for the female rap game. there are a lot of dope female MC's, but that doesn't make them monumental enough to warrant being honored.
