. I never played Battlefield before but Battlefield 1 was pretty easy to get grips with. It's just practice man.

You gotta earn your stripes OP players playing against you aint gonna play fair or take it easy on you. part of the reason why I dont like MP alot because they muthafukkas are getting cheap kills when you got the drop on them. Or even in battlefield when I got killed by one bullet in my leg I was like...:beli: where's the realism???

You just got to get better breh... :francis:

thread title reminds me of halo 1 on MCC every time I play it...

You: FPS games need better ways for newbies to get acclimated to multiplayer

343 industies: Lets put out halo games where lopsided parties of players will match each other and where the rank system doesnt properly match players of similar rank.

I am tired of playing with nikkas who have no clue how to walk in a straight line, much less shoot and I'm tired of searching solo and matching a party of players who move like synchronized swimmers meanwhile my teammate is at the part of the map everyone avoids crouched up with a shotgun because he's a noob.

Disclaimer: I'm NICE at halo.

that is the way you get better :pachaha:
you get fukking destroyed till you become a destroyer :blessed:

And that is suppose to happen with a proper matchmaking system. Not just throwing you into a game where the players and party sizes you face will be random. A game with a proper matchmaking will put you against similar party sizes and similar ranked players....you don't get to lvl 19 till you beat every rank from 1-18 in games where you face teams of parties or solo players depending on how you searched (with a party or solo).

For example, let's go off my MCC rant above...say you hop on to play a game of let's say...team doubles, because it has a bunch of halo games in one playlist that you like playing. This playlist is also ranked, so you want wins/losses to matter. Cool, now here is where the fukkery starts. You're not the greatest player, you're mediocre, but you want to get better and you want to win and keep playing better players every game. Now here is where these remedial cocksuckas at 343 come in.

EVERY TIME YOU HIT SEARCH IN THAT PLAYLIST THE OUTCOME WILL BE RANDOM AS fukk...

the playlist is team doubles, so it's 2v2....and for some reason today your teammate isnt on, so you're running solo. Cool, nothing is wrong with that, what could simply go wrong? You search solo and you match 3 other guys, 2 on the opposing team and one for your team...cool, this looks normal at first, till you realize you matched a lvl 7 on your team aganst a lvl 35 and a lvl 50 on the opposing team...

you are a lvl 23 and those guys are also searching together, they are a duo. They didnt search solo like you or your teammate. This is fair, isnt it? two guys, most likely friends, with headsets communicating any and everything during a match against you and a teammate that you do not know or may not ever know because he may or may not have a headset or mic. FUN.

You see how fukking retarded this is yet? No? ok cool...

you end up losing the game 50-13, with you having 12 out of the 13 kills and your lvl 7 of a teammate had 1 random grenade he threw across the map kill someone.

wait, you didnt have fun during that experience? It wasnt competitive or fair you say? The other team didnt enjoy beating up on players way below their ranks, wow...incredible observation.

Any online competitive game with poor matchmaking is fukking up. It makes playing feel like a chore because you either get easy ass matches or games where the shyt is lopsided as fukk in the other teams favor, neither is an enjoyable experience for anyone. It's backwards ass shyt.

Competitive PvP isn't for everyone. A lot of people prefer co-op with friends instead of going against other skilled players. Nothing wrong with that. I enjoy both though.

ranking systems are usually broken

it makes no sense that when I hop into a game for the first time I'm getting destroyed by spawn campers, people who've mastered the maps, and generally more seasoned players.

AT LEAST GIVE ME SOME TIME TO GET MY BEARINGS DAMMIT! :damn:

I think it ruins the fun and turns some people away from playing FPS games. i swore off FPS' for years for this reason.

With any great game with playing, you gotta go through the motions with trail and error while you build proficiency, man. Learn how to adapat a playstyle, exploit the system if you can, learn the ropes. After you get the shyt down-pact or atleast find your footing, THEN the game becomes fun.

However the way you talkin' about easing in and getting destroyed, it sounds like you worrying about your Kill death reatio off the jump. It gonna be bad for a while, but pushing it back into the 1.00 and then climbing the ladder is a wonderful feeling, man. :to: Experincing this shyt with Battlefield 1. I'm with you on the campers shyt, but you gotta learn how to memorize locations and take the alternate route to it, 'cause there is almost always an alternate route. Helps you get acclimated with the map. It's a wonderful feeling, man and I hope you get to enjoy it soon.

You guys are missing the point in favor of the lulz...

for example, let's take Battlefield 1. As a newbie I need to figure out the following

-how squads work
-how classes work (this aint COD breh)
-how vehicles work
-etc etc

shyt i been playing for weeks and I'm JUST learning
-how to issue squad commands
-how to use the spot flare
-how to change the minimap so it's effective
-etc. etc.

They should at least have a tutorial mode. Dropping me in a full scale war to get murked repeatedly is not how one "gits gud" hell I still have no idea how to get a vehicle and what each option does (bomber vs. fighter) etc.

They got help videos and shyt on the main screen for a variety of things I believe.

Take your ass whipping like everyone else. Consider that shyt basic training. Go fukk off in an empty server if you want to practice.

I'll fox with ya.
All the above you talked about, Squads, Classes, Vehicles and all that shyt, while I do side with you in the fact that Battlefield sorta does a piss poor job of showing you how these things work provided you new to the franchise and all, but you can get a feel for damn near all this shyt with in game experience similar to what I and many others did when we got out of that wobbly knee'd fresh born calf/deer phase and started learning the ropes.

Issuing commands and even how to cycle the distance on sniper rifles is vague as fukk short of a few hastily tacked on reminders that pop up in game when you doing shyt and them having a random video on the mainpage when you loading into the game is not a proper substitute and all, but you learn through playing, man. While having a tutorial that would allow you to use/test out whatever killstreaks(cod) and Vehicles (Battlefield) so that you could better utilize them when made available to you would be nice as hell, you can get ya bearings set on these different tools and rewards by learning 'em in game; which may seem kinda counterproductive since most no one wants to have a teammate learning the ropes during a battle (You gonna see ALOT of that come Christmas and after it with the holiday gift getters) but it ain't so hard to the point where you should be come frustrtated or pine for a tutorial as opposed to learning how to use said tool against killing the enemy with real world results.

The getting murked repeatedly shyt is the newborn stage you go through in most anygame and to be honest, I don't think any tutorial or hand holding gonna prepare you to be better proficent than you would get from experiencing the gameplay mechanics in real time.:manny:

Battlefield 1 is a nice example of that shyt though, and even though I'm familar with the series, this has to be the first game I've played indepth (80 hours and counting and that's only 'cause my connection has been shyt the last month and I've been fukking with The Division) and you're constantly learning new shyt all the time through trial and error with friends, but it was fun. Playing these sort of games with friends also help straighten the learning curve.
