This isn't "Gore for McCoy".

This is "Gore AND a starting linebacker AND enough cap space still left to help chase another defensive starter"...for McCoy.

I don't know enough about run-blocking schemes to really evaluate, but it's said that Chip thinks that Gore's style fits the system better than McCoy's did. NOT that Gore is better, just that his relative value in this system is more than you would think. If that's true, it's icing on the cake. Any time you can trade running backs and pick up multiple defensive starters in the process....do it.

Based on what? Just that he's old? His year-to-year decline is still minor.

I think the Eagles will draft or grab one cheap young RB still this year, and run a platoon of all three guys, with Sproles and Gore raising up the young guy in the position. By next year the young guy will be the star, and the other two will just be letting him catch a breather here and there.

Not a huge fan but the gore/sproles combo is not a bad deal. On top of that we will have kiko and Byron maxwell I think it's a step in the right direction. Now we just gotta figure out what we are doing at WR and QB.

Having more negative yards is a thing, which makes it all the more impressive that he OUTGAINS Frank Gore consistently, even given the negative runs.
On top of that, in 2013 McCoy had more receiving yards than Gore has had in the last 3 seasons combined.

Because he is better.

Also he is younger.

LeSean McCoy is 26, frank gore is 31.

No beef with Frank Gore, I think he's a fine running back. Above average, definitely. But you're point of fewer negative runs and "fukk mccoy for complaining" -- well, Gore has been known to complain as well. Do a little research.

Breh he almost had 100 more carries than gore and only had about 150 or more so yards. Gore is a more effective RB.
