yea you can see people doing the most with this excited beyond belief act. But i mean, a lot of us, myself included, did it with Guwop's return home so I can't hate

That was a key part of Apple's plan from jump when they bought Beats. They spent a year recruiting artists for exclusivity deals.
Jay rounded up a bunch of artists he was friends with along with artists affiliated with CAA and Live Nation and rushed Tidal to market to get the jump on Apple. That's a key reason why Tidal's launch was so half assed. They mentioned the exclusive content selling point at launch, but didn't actually offer a new exclusive content album (Rihanna) until almost a year after they launched.
