U really think Gibbs is actually gonna say that Jeezy IS holding him back. if Jeezy wanted Gibbs to blow, Gibbs would have at least been on TM103 to get Gibbs more buzz. Jeezy has proven to be a horrrible "CEO" Who has jeezy put out on CTE? nobody. It would be in Jeezy's best interest to market/push Gibbs as much as he could. i things Gibbs is raw as fucc and it would be a tragedy if he only amounts to bein a mixtape rapper.

its not about Gibbs playin the "industry game" Did Jeezy play the industry game? NO Did Chief Keef play the industry game? NO. but them nygga put out studio albums and Keef has a release date. :myman:

Jeezy and Keef got theyself hot first tho and then the push came, they got hot enuff the industry came to them and they didn't have to play the industry game....Gibbs ain't put himself in that position,he need to be networking tryna make friends and affiliations,if he don't wanna do that this shyt might take longer then people expecting.

Plus we don't know what the deal is for real...I remember Stack Bundles when people said he wuz on Desert Storm he just had an 6 month "agreement",and I believe he had the same kind of agreement with Byrdgang....maybe sumbody here sumwhat in the industry can explain more what those kindve "agreements" are,and what advantage it is to an artist.

I'm just sayin Jeezy jumps on tracks and puts Gibbs on tracks and shouts him out,and hangs out with em at award shows and videos but he don't seem to be financially invested in Gibbs, and Gibbs don't seem to be upset or have expectations for CTE doin nuthin for em.

With that said him and Jeezy seem like homeboys so id like to see em maybe hop in the studio with em or call in a favor just cuz its the real nikka thing to do:salute:regardless of how obligated he may or may not be according to any paperwork they might have

:what: Why would you even think Jeezy is holding him back though? If he was then why is he releasing all of these projects with other people? If he was in fact being held back then none of his projects would see the light of day and trying to compare Jeezys come up to Gibbs doesn't make sense and isn't comparable in the slightest. Jeezy came in the game and made his mark with trap or die and had the industry foaming at the mouth to sign him so he didnt have to follow anyone lead he made his own lane. Gibbs hasn't garnered much attention from the labels and was even dropped from Interscope so comparing their 2 careers and throwing Cheif wack as fukk Keef in there is retarded.
And as far as Gibbs not being on TM103 im pretty sure Def Jam had a major say so on who was on that album (nikkas gonna just ignore all the tracks that him and Gibbs did together IE: Rough, Sittin low, Run DMC, twos and fews since it wasn't on a retail album) People have this imaginary soap opera going on in their heads that Jeezy is trying to sabotage Gibbs which is nuts IMO.
Truth be told I could care less about Jeezy as a "CEO" whatever that means in this day and age especially with a label which has no real say so in release dates and power to push someone's career. I guess my thing is why are people so infatuated with someone releasing a major label album? Does it really matter in what format music is presented to appreciate what it is? I mean he released 3-4 albums worth of music but it seems not to matter to the majority of cats b/c he hasn't blown up and it wasn't released on a major label.

:whoo: This dude is slowly finding his lane and Jeezy is helping him do that, simple. I didn't hear about this dude until earlier this year and I'm sure he was signed to Jeezy then.

He'll build his following and hopefully do what Curren$y is doing.

Simple. Even the people who swear sales don't matter or those that don't claim they're stans wanna see a rapper like Gibbs be successful on a bigger scale as they feel that if Gibbs somehow blows up successfully by being himself, then the sheep that are the music industry will follow suit and have artists promoted just like him, and then and ONLY then, hip-hop will win.

But then those same fans always wake up from that dream, face reality, head to their favorite message board, and bytch.

i agree with you :skip:

but should people give a shyt about how famous an artist could potentially get if the music itself is of quality?

in this internet age, i might be living in a dream but i think good art in general eventually gets recognized over the internet

as long as you :bustback::bustback::bustback: with that good music, people tend to take notice as the case with lets say curren$y or something

mainstream success at this point is fukking ridiculous to waste your time striving for, there's only about 6-10 major stars
