I don't want to open the man up to scrutiny after a great album but he's pushing it :boshdistressed:

He gave Doom his props for making classic music and he felt challenged to see if he could do the same.

He also said they made a song together and he got Doom on it.

But it's not a ridiculous notion at all. Gibbs a pure beast, while Doom is more unique and & creative with it.

I like Gibbs but he is one if those guys that when you slow it down his flow > his bars. He's not the guy I stop and rewind.

DOOM has so many bars and quotables it's ridiculous given that he sticks to mutlis. He has more freedom lyrically than any other rapper given that he's speaking from the perspective of a fictional character. He's not bound by any limits where a guy like Gibbs is just giving you street shyt over and over. DOOM did an album based on Adult Swim cartoons and still goes hard lyrically.

Lupe, DOOM, and Nas are GOAT lyricists to me.

Freddie Gibbs is nice. Real nice. Top their rapping. With a lot of different flows.

But until he has something close to Beef Rap, Gas Drawls, Accordion, naw. Gibbs can rap faster than Doom sure.... but lyrics? Naw. Doom still better. And Madvillany is still the best Madlib x rapper project to date.

I’d rather listen to Gibbs cuz Gibbs in my Top 5-6
