The comparison is probably gonna feel lazy because they're both white boom bap producers but I often feel like Statik is like Jake One minus everything that makes Jake One's stuff knock so hard. I think it's the drums and other elements in Statik's beats that always end up boring me. You like the idea of him more than the end product. Just safe and bland I guess.
Very good break down.

I listened again and I'm def feelin this more.

I stopped comparing it to Pinata/Bandana and considered it more of an extension of Fetti

This is a damn good album, no wasted words, all meat, no gristle

Gibbs lowkey has the best discography of the 2010s imo. I don't know if he has any timeless classics but the versatility and consistency is unmatched. The only so so projects being Freddie and that static selektah joint

I knew you'd come around

Scottie Beam makes me want a new Rozay album
Unpopular opinion coming:

Nothing memorable about that verse from Rozay. You can insert any of his verses from the past 5 years here and I wouldn't notice. Very similar feeling to Devil in a New Dress from Kanye's MBDTF...I was glad to get another verse because it extended a dope beat/song another 2 mins. Cant recite a single line, yet I'm happy that verse is there :yeshrug:
