Fredo Starr, member of the iconic rap group Onyx and a seasoned presence in film and television, dating back to The Wire and more. Now he is stepping behind the camera for the first time to bring one of New York City’s most legendary nightlife landmarks to the big screen. His directorial debut, The Tunnel, is an indie feature that dives deep into the electric spirit of 1990s New York and the unforgettable legacy of the club that defined an era.

This is low key big. The Tunnel was THAT club. Historic and notorious all wrapped into one. IYKYK.

As reported around the web, the film is a coming-of-age story set in 1990s New York City and centers around the iconic nightclub “The Tunnel”. It follows two college basketball players, one played by rising actor Deyshaun Tucker, who are determined to have an unforgettable night by getting into the famous club. The upcoming movie explores themes of loyalty, ambition, and self-discovery during a wild night out. Beyond a club tale, “The Tunnel” is described as a tribute to a vanished New York, capturing the raw energy and electric promise of a generation immersed in mixtape culture, graffiti, and the burgeoning hip-hop scene.

Sounds dope.

Fredro, who lived and breathed that era firsthand, is bringing a story filled with raw energy and emotional depth to the screen. The Tunnel is not just about music or nightlife but about the moment where ambition, loyalty, and love all collide under flashing lights and pounding bass.

He’s actually perfect to direct this film. Hoping he kills it so he can take his directing talents to new heights for his career and open the door to more people who look like him, at this stage in their journey, who want to take the reigns behind the camera."

Choke No Joke said he has all the legendary footage of The Tunnel and what went on in the unisex bathrooms :banderas:

They say a lot of Rappers got their sh1t took in there, I wonder how authentic it will be. I seen what it looks like from the YouTube Tunnel clips.

It's good look.

Uptown, NYC
That was really the GOAT era for Hip Hop.

The Tunnel was a special spot. So many iconic performances there. That was the real NYC back then. Onyx was always up in The Tunnel too, so Fredro knows exactly how to capture the feeling of what it was. Sounds like a dope project. Definitely gonna check this out when it drops.

Salute…

That Jay-Z song was my favorite along with the intro which was produced by DJ Head(Eminem’s past DJ)

Eminem stayed appearing on these albums too.

Fire, I'd be interested in watching this if it's done professionally and proper. The Tunnel is a legendary spot man, if he's not gonna attack it uncut and raw then don't even do it, don't make it corny.
Yea the other issue is a lot of famous guys who may be referenced in this are gonna be lying they asses off about what happened to make themselves seem like the coolest nikkas on earth
