So are you denying that San Francisco has places set up for people to "safely" use drugs, and that the cops are not allowed to arrest people for blatantly using drugs infront of people on the street ?

so what is this place ?

Mothers protest 'open drug use' at SF Linkage Center, say safe space makes addiction worse
“The DPH said the staff has already reversed an average of three overdoses a week since the site opened three weeks ago.”

That’s my main takeaway from that story.

All that pearl clutching leads up to you reading that center is doing it’s job. Thanks for proving our points

The former mayor is speaking about the impact of high visibility crimes, the ever-present homeless problem, and the drug-addicted or mentally ill people are having on a city once known for both its tolerance and beauty.

To the bold…The city I live in isn’t perfect, but I’m happy for the most part. I don’t understand the bold. I don’t want to live in a city that employs this tactic, and it’s ok for me to feel that way
Hey they must be doing something right, I'm no expert but Vancouver been ranked best place to live in the world for decades... their approaches to drug issues have often been puzzling to the rest of us but we end up following suit down the line in one way or another adopting things from them. again this isn't the city these are organizations within the city.

The declaration allowed the city to fast-track the creation of a "linkage center" that recently opened. It's a walk-in one-stop shop for expanded city services, such as drug, alcohol and mental health services, as well as homeless support that includes possibly a shelter bed and eventually permanent housing. At least, that's the hope.

Breed says she has no illusions that the new linkage center will quickly transform the Tenderloin. But she hopes it offers a new lifeline that meets people where they are.

"The fact is people who struggle with addiction, it's not as easy as they're just going to walk through the door and ask for help or we can't force them into treatment," she says. "Part of the goal is to make sure that they know that there's a place where they won't be judged, and when they're ready for help or assistance, they can get help or assistance."
