So looking at this budget proposal and I’m sickened by the shyt being cut. Recommending the dissolving of Job Corps. I went to job corps when I lost my way as a teen. It was a shytty experience but there were a lot of people who worked there who really do care about the kids that are there. I think I shared the story but if it wasn’t for this lady who was my counselor, I would’ve never thought of attending college. Lady saw so much in me that I didn’t see in myself, she filled out my damn application to Albany State University, paid the app fee and submitted it directly to someone she knew worked in admissions.

True there are some cats there who don’t care and were just looking to get out of their current fukked up situation but abandoning that program rubs me the wrong way. Vocational training and all will be lost. Kids ability to get a GED and possibly go to college if they so desire. All gone if this goes through.

Cutting NPS park budget and being strict about what’s considered a park will negatively impact spots like the Brown v. Board historic site or even the MLK Jr birthplace. This is all types of fukked up and the fact that folks are whistling Dixie like this shyt ain’t serious irks me.

Trump already said he's cutting Head Start funding, and cutting Job Corps funding is just as problematic (and just as anti-Black). I have a lot of friends & loved ones who went to Job Corps and are now doing pretty well in life. One of my cousins actually turned his whole life around after being in JC.
Those programs have helped plenty of Black children and should definitely be saved.
