It does because the only point of living is to reproduce. The selfish gene and all that.

If we could get past our biological urges, and explore consciousness, things would be different on the planet. There’s a reason why a lot of religious leaders are celibate. The problem is, it is very hard to get rid of sexual urges. It takes medicine.

I used to take certain medicine that suppressed my sexual desires. I stopped taking it a year ago, and it’s like night and day. Sexual desire takes up way too much of our time. Logically I know this, but I still want p*ssy. You just can’t escape it. It’s because our genes are programming us to reproduce, to continue on their lives. All creatures are like this. p*ssy definitely rules the world

I've won more than my losses. But all that I'm saying is...

Horrific mindset lmao
I studied evolutionary psychology extensively in college. It made a lot of sense.

Richard Dawkins’s “Selfish gene” is eye opening.

Now, I don’t like that it is like this. I don’t like that the only point of living is to reproduce. I don’t like that sex dominates our lives. I don’t like it at all. But that doesn’t mean it’s not true.

I mean, from an objective perspective it is what it is :yeshrug:

There is no objective meaning or point to life, it's a biological cycle, it just is.

life is what you make it:mjgrin:

Nothing matters though. The world is infinite. No experience is better or more valid than another. What is good? What is bad? Are we just supposed to chase dopamine for our lives in a human body? Is biological and psychological pleasure just all we should care about? Is there more than that? When you explore that question to a large extent, you realize it’s all just meaningless (or at least that’s my conclusion). I tried being a libertine, but that just leads to physical addiction. Being a nihilist sucks, but I can’t get out of it because I learned the wrong things and it trapped me :francis:

I can only speak for myself, and maybe I'm simple for this, but that's enough for me. I wouldn't distill our experience to only pleasure because it honestly feels like so much more in the moment, obviously when you conceptualize your life instead of living it you reach the conclusion that nothing matters. But ultimately we're human, and the hope we can find purpose by understanding more about our environment through meaningful progression, not just prioritizing reproduction, gives us a better shot at just that. I try to have my politics and lifestyle align with this belief. I feel like being a human and theorizing in this way is missing the forest for the trees, and I say this as an atheist.

we are here for self-actualization, not necessarily reproduction. for some (most?) people having kids is a part of that

from my observations, older folks that truly realized their potential (think someone like Nas or Martin Scorsese) AND had kids/grandkids are happier than older people who have kids or grandkids but feel like they could have done this or should have done that. There are people who realized their potential and DIDN'T have any children who also seem content but the first group is the goal for most people I'd say.

I think we are also looking for transcendent experiences and that can be a great film, great p*ssy, drugs, catching the holy ghost, etc. We chase p*ssy as a part of that hunt to lose our selves in something, losing yourself in another person :wow:
