well the Rass thing is like Biggie.

No matter how many rhyme patterns he fits into 2/4/8 bars, its always divisible by two with maybe an odd half a bar here or there.

It doesn't throw you off the beat of the rhyme.

Freeway rhymes like.... you know how sometime you see people clap to the beat, but they're clapping 1/3 and not 2/4?

yeah that is what im saying like from what i know about music theory if u do not place rhymes perfectly on the correct instrument then u not rhyming on beat

i disagree

like freeway puts a balance amount of syllables in his lines so when he rhymes on the correct instrument he is in pocket the thing with freeway is he places his rhymes all over the bar and switches it up.

like most rap beats are 4/4 but there are expections and can change depending on the instrumental

biggie did his shyt on purpose he had a scyncopated flow and would not rhyme on beat on purpose along with meter and stressing syllables off beat on purpose.

exactly. that's why I gave the 1/3 to 2/4 example.....

but I didn't say it was wrong.

He's still rhyming, but it'll jump from kick to every other kick.....

to snare to every other snare.

Back to kick to kick.

Then he STRESSES that syllable like "look what I just did!"

I miss the hood when I'm travelin, get neck when I'm travelin
Chicks peck wood when I'm travelin
fukk a Lex cause the click fit good in the Caravan
Slide through your hood like a avalanche
Take a flick if you get a chance get that close
fukk an advance, cause I get that dough
Beef with MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE,
enemies come sleep with me for breakfast
Guaranteed to eat this toast I'm reckless,
firestarter heat your folks
A starvin artist that a eat y'all tracks,
so don't bring 'em AROUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNNNNNNNNNND

It's not wrong, it just drives me fukking nuts.

yea the way he rhyme phrases is unique like most nikkas perfer u to rhyme strings of phrases freeway don't rhyme in a specific order or the same order
his rhyme schemes is all over the place in terms of the actual patterns of his rhymes.

yea ras kass does that lot like time signature could be 4/4 but he adds to many syllables in the bar so he does not all ways rhyme on beat.

This is actually the type of shyt I love from Mcs though. Its one thing to come up with clever concepts, but to literally alter your rhyme scheme is a skill in and of itself. I dont fukk with alot of Freeway's shyt, but he has some dope shyt in his catalogue, and there is NO father to his style. Sadat is prolly the most unique vocalist in hip-hop when you take his voice and rhyme scheme in consideration. I get why people dont feel it, but that same shyt is why I give them dap.

Like you said, Ras has a style like that, more noticeable in his earlier Soul On Ice era tracks.

i did not say it was hard just said it was tricky and kinda of weird but i like it.

it took me years to get it but, when i started rapping and learning to count bars I learned he was rhyming, just 4 or 8 bars when we used to 16 bars of rhymes. Or another way to think about it is it's 8 long lines or 4 long ass lines. Sometimes he'll have a rhyme, set up a new rhyme scheme in between for 3 or 4 bars, and then will go back to the first rhyme. It's very original. Don't know where he picked it up from.

Me (A) and (B) Sieg', (C) like Snoop and (B) (D) Daz
(A)Because tricks that fukk, couldn't give (A)me (E) the (D) ass
(B)And they roll (F) up, (C) light up (D) pass (A) me (E) the trees, come on

that's is your typical freeway rhyme scheme.
